Many of us gain weight through emotional eating patterns and body confidence issues. We tend to use food as a source of comfort instead of addressing our underlying emotions which seem frightening and painful.
Techniques such as EFT and NLP can help to release the underlying emotional pain and fear that we are carrying to help us to feel freer and happier. As we begin to feel lighter and happier in ourselves, our bodies can begin to reflect that back to us. We can use these tools to help us to have the confidence to embrace our feelings and release them instead of eating in order to avoid them.
In many ways a lack of confidence in relationships can also cause us to ‘hide’ behind body fat. When we do not have the confidence to set boundaries and care for our own needs we have a tendency to fear intimate relationships. One of the ways we may try to ‘protect ourselves’ from this fear is by gaining weight to distance ourselves from the potential ‘threat’ of feeling attractive and vulnerable to being in a relationship. Self confidence can make it easier to own our power and allow ourselves to feel beautiful and attractive.
